Jim Lee

Information Security Analyst, Seismic Software

My Role

I am an ambassador of cybersecurity education and empowerment for small businesses. I configure easy-to-use tools and develop intuitive solutions for small business cybersecurity programs. I believe it is paramount to provide organizations with tools that bolster their cybersecurity posture without hindering organizational productivity.

My Story

My journey in technology began when I was a computer science student, but my interest in cybersecurity sparked when I noticed more information about highly publicized data breaches in the press. It baffled me that information security was not a prevalent topic among my classmates.

I started my career as a cybersecurity technician intern at Haight Bey & Associates LLC DBA Totem after meeting the CEO, Alli Bey, at a SANS conference in San Diego. After graduating, my cybersecurity career has snowballed and I now work in other domains including penetration testing and security compliance.

My Philosophy

As an engineer, I love the saying “Fall in love with problem, not the solution”. This mentality helps foster curiosity and persistence, which are great qualities to possess as a cybersecurity professional or enthusiast.

My Qualifications

Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Science, University of California San Diego

GIAC Web Application Penetration Tester (GWAPT)

GIAC Information Security Fundamentals (GISF)
