Joe McManus

Joe McManus is an expert in the field of information security. His main research areas are automating incident response and IoT/embedded security.

As part of the University of Colorado’s ITP department, he teaches courses on security policy, forensics, secure coding, secure embedded coding and network analysis.

Joe is also a researcher at CERT, part of the Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Mellon University, where he specializes in large-scale network monitoring, network forensics and incident response. Working closely with federal law enforcement, he created tools and techniques for investigation and incident response.

Joe has a masters degree from Carnegie Mellon University and an undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland. He is currently pursuing his PhD in ITP from the University of Colorado.
