My Role

I work on the LogRhythm Labs team as a Compliance Engineer. In this capacity, my focus is conducting research and developing core modules for compliance suites, particularly in the healthcare industry—especially HIPAA. I’m passionate about compliance and empowering customers to go beyond mandates for security. Knowing that you are compliant helps you sleep better at night!

My Story

From the beginning, I’ve always had a passion for protecting people’s health information and the messaging and mission of HIPAA compliance. With a background in business communications and business administration, I felt compliance was a perfect fit between communications and business law.

I have been working on the audit preparation side of HIPAA since 2009. Before joining LogRhythm, I worked with Data Network Group as a NOC Engineer, working on cloud platform development and disaster recovery services for HIPAA, PCI and beyond.

Though HIPAA is my primary specialization, I have experience with a variety of compliance frameworks and data science, which makes me uniquely qualified for the LogRhythm Labs team. Who knew there were compliance roles that heavily involved data science?

Outside of LogRhythm, I work as a mentor and actively blog for mental and professional wellness. I also collaborate with nonprofits on youth development. Some of my hobbies include snowboarding, skateboarding, running, personal training and traveling.

My Philosophy

Compliance is the first and last step of security and a stable peace of mind. Because nothing will ever be perfect, having a sound set of practices, policies and procedures is how we can strive closer toward a worry-free world. Let compliance forge your alliance!
