Senior Engineer, Compliance Research

My Role

I’m a Senior Engineer for LogRhythm’s Compliance Research Labs team. Our efforts are focused on the research, development, and testing and release of modules and alarms within LogRhythm based on our customers’ security compliance requirements. We work closely with customers, sales engineers, and the Threat Research team to develop these solutions based on common threat identification, access controls, file integrity monitoring, change administration, and data compromise to name a few.

My Story

I first began my career as an associate at Ernst & Young (EY) where I performed a number of different risk assessments and audits for Fortune 500 companies. I left EY to pursue an opportunity as a senior technology consultant at RSM. During my tenure at RSM, I led security control assessments under regulations such as the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 (SOX), the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Specialized in the banking industry, I assisted clients with the implementation and improvement of cybersecurity procedures related to threat intelligence, database administration, API development, and SecOps. This served to flourish my interest in security and data privacy and eventually landed me at LogRhythm.

Outside of work, I’m an avid songwriter, music producer, and lead singer for a band. I also enjoy biking, photography, playing fetch with my dog Harlow, practicing coding (Python), and learning the newest security tools.

My Philosophy

The circumstances of one’s birth are irrelevant. It is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are.
