LogRhythm’s partnership with Salvation Army Australia wins Best SIEM – Computer Software at the SBR Technology Excellence Awards 2022

Award winning NextGen SIEM platform was crucial in empowering Salvation Army Australia achieve game-changing cybersecurity posture

SINGAPORE – 12 May 2022 – LogRhythm, the company that helps busy and lean security operations teams save the day, has won the award for Best SIEM – Computer Software at the Singapore Business Review (SBR) Technology Excellence Awards 2022, for its work in equipping Salvation Army Australia with the NextGen SIEM solution.

This award recognises LogRhythm’s effective security solutions that empower organisations to successfully reduce their cyber risk, and marks the fourth consecutive win for LogRhythm in this category.

“We are honoured to receive this award for our work with Salvation Army Australia, which is a testament to the capabilities and flexibility of our NextGen SIEM product in helping busy organisations mature their security operations easily,” Joanne Wong, Vice President, International Markets, LogRhythm said.

Wong added, “Cybersecurity is not often a top priority for non-profit organisations such as Salvation Army Australia, as their limited resources are channelled into championing their cause. This makes them prime targets for cybercriminals looking to hack into their databases and obtain personal information or halt operations.”

As an international organization operating in this ever-changing risk environment, Salvation Army Australia understood the importance of maturing their security operations to mitigate operational risks, and made a decision to deploy LogRhythm’s NextGen SIEM solution based on several factors.

Firstly, LogRhythm’s holistic solution already contains User Entity and Behaviour Analytics (UEBA), Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR), analytics, and log management tools, which eliminated the need to purchase separate tools. In addition, LogRhythm’s True Unlimited Data Plan – the industry’s first true fixed cost licensing model – provided the company with commercial and architectural scalability, which allowed it to manage the costs of protecting their data, even with the exponential growth of big data volumes. As such, the team was able to mature their security operations with lower upfront and ongoing costs.

Meanwhile, LogRhythm’s NextGen SIEM platform was able to provide the organisation with a single pane view of cybersecurity across their entire IT infrastructure. This enabled swift detection and mitigation of threats, allowing the security team to reduce detection and response times.

The NextGen SIEM platform’s Case Management functionality also provided a centralised repository for relevant evidence, and the ability to add other analysts to cases to enable seamless collaboration. LogRhythm’s patented risk-based monitoring and prioritisation uses environmental risk characteristics and threat context to assign risk-based scores to all events and alarms, reducing alarm fatigue and helping analysts focus on the most impactful security events.

“What we liked about LogRhythm over its competitors was its large array of pre-built integrations, and its superior automation and orchestration capabilities. We were also attracted by the ease of use of the analyst console and the platform’s very competitive pricing,” said Lachlan McGill, Executive Manager Cybersecurity, The Salvation Army.

As a result of this collaboration, Salvation Army Australia has been able to achieve full security visibility into its entire IT Infrastructure by gaining insight into issues that would not previously be possible without trawling through endless logs manually or paying third parties to conduct audits. The higher visibility and automation capabilities empowered the IT team to react to threats much faster without being overly fatigued. Read the full case study here.
