Leading Technology Licensing Company Deploys SIEM Platform to Centralize Log Monitoring, IT Forensics and SOX Compliance
BOULDER, Colo., Sep. 13, 2010 – LogRhythm, the company that makes log data useful, today announced that Rambus Inc., one of the world’s premier technology licensing companies, has deployed the LogRhythm Log Management and SIEM platform to detect security threats, perform IT forensic investigations, monitor network configuration changes, and meet Sarbanes–Oxley (SOX) compliance requirements.
Rambus specializes in the invention and design of architectures focused on enhancing the end-user experience of electronic systems. Rambus’ patented innovations and breakthrough technologies help industry-leading companies bring superior products to market. The company selected the LogRhythm platform to automate and centralize log management, security event management, and compliance reporting across its UNIX and Windows hosts and network devices.
“LogRhythm enables us to proactively monitor and respond to security alarms and IT operations changes across a network that spans multiple continents and numerous machines,” said Mark Grimse, Senior IT Director for Rambus. “With the ability to gather both log and security event data, LogRhythm allows us to drill down into security alerts to quickly identify the root cause and take immediate corrective actions. The impressive LogRhythm user interface organizes mountains of data in a graphical fashion, making it easier to conduct forensic investigations and meet reporting requirements.”
Rambus is using the LogRhythm platform to collect logs from its Unix and Windows hosts, network devices, and VoIP systems, and to monitor for security threats and IT operations problems. Alarms provide automated alerts when critical security events and IT changes occur. These events are routed to the appropriate individuals in the UNIX, Windows, security or network team at Rambus.
“We’re pleased to be working with Rambus to help them continuously monitor for security threats and potential data leakage from both inside and outside the network,” said Mike Reagan, Vice President of Marketing & Business Development at LogRhythm. “Our powerful correlation and forensics tools coupled with our comprehensive out-of-the-box approach to compliance support, makes it easy for Rambus to root out and fix IT problems and meet SOX compliance requirements.”
