Security Today Honors LogRhythm with Two Government Security Awards

Boulder — Wednesday, March 11, 2020 — LogRhythm, the company powering today’s security operations centers, announced that Security Today honored it with two Government Security Awards, or “Govies.” LogRhythm’s NextGen SIEM Platform and NetMon received recognition as outstanding government security products in the “Risk Analysis” and “Network Security” categories, respectively.

To determine the winners, an independent panel of judges from the security industry reviewed nominees against a variety of criteria, including features; user friendliness; interoperability; and impact in technical advances, in scalability, and in the security industry.

“We’re thrilled to receive both awards from Security Today. Ensuring government agencies have the advanced software needed to protect themselves is of the utmost importance, and LogRhythm has been committed to their cyber safety for quite some time,” said Mark Logan, CEO of LogRhythm. “While the threat landscape may be evolving in the government sector, our customers can be confident in knowing they already have the features and functionalities needed to stay one step ahead of the threat actors.”

The government threat landscape throughout 2019 was largely defined by ransomware. These attacks targeted both state and local governments, with one such notable event, including the 22 Texas local governments that were hit in a “coordinated ransomware attack.” But while these types of incidents may have been new to some, they were not to LogRhythm, as the company has long invested in developing platform capabilities to address these exact attacks. Examples include the abilities to search the entire environment for suspicious traffic on ports and monitoring for files executing from locations typically taken advantage of by ransomware.

And while capabilities like these are part of the reason that LogRhythm’s products have consistently been a popular option for government organizations looking to improve their IT and security operations, they are not the only factor. LogRhythm’s security solutions are used by more than 100 government organizations, with many noting that the reason they selected LogRhythm was due ease of use and flexible licensing and deployment options available with the NextGen SIEM Platform.

Unlike other solutions that may require months for users to fully learn and effectively use, government security practitioners consistently deploy and find meaningful value from the LogRhythm platform within a matter of days. And because customers can choose to license and deploy the solution on-premises (using hardware, software, or both), in the cloud, or a combination of on-prem and in the cloud, the LogRhythm NextGen SIEM Platform can be deployed within any government environment. No matter what kind of infrastructure the environment is built on — even if it features air gapped networks or requires an unlimited amount of data to be sent to the SIEM — customers can easily purchase, implement, and begin using the solution.

As a testament to LogRhythm’s immediate impact, one government CIO stated: “LogRhythm made a huge difference in our enterprise environment. From the very beginning the benefits of the solution were realized in what we could now visualize. It brought to light some issues and inconsistencies that could not have been seen or even detected without a full SIEM solution. The LogRhythm team has been extremely responsive to needs and their support has been second to none.”

LogRhythm is committed to ensuring government agencies have access to company personnel and resources to set them up for ongoing success. Previously, the company has collaborated with industry partners to provide capture-the-flag-style training, employing real-world scenarios so government security practitioners can improve their incident response, forensics, and red and blue team skills. And this spring, LogRhythm will be available to meet with both existing and prospective customers at a number of events, including its LogRhythm User Group (LUG) event in Salt Lake City on March 11, the TechNet Fort Bragg Symposium in North Carolina on April 21¬–22, and the GEOINT 2020 Symposium in Tampa on April 26–29.
