Eric Brown

Senior Security Analyst

My Role

As a Senior Security Analyst and part of the Office of the Chief Information Security Officer team, I maintain LogRhythm’s overall security posture. I handle incident response, conduct threat hunting, detect and analyze anomalies, analyze and reply to reported suspect and phishing emails, and monitor logs and other network traffic analysis identified in the LogRhythm SIEM. I also am part of the Change Advisory Board (CAB).

My Story

I started my career in the Air Force and served almost 21 years. I worked as an aerospace ground equipment mechanic for 11 years before I changed careers to pursue my interest in computers and the IT field and became a system administrator. I later worked at a small privately-owned company that assists with U.S. Navy contracts, developing and testing new IT systems. I most recently worked at a business unit under General Dynamics as a security analyst and later became cybersecurity analyst and information system security officer (ISSO).

I joined LogRhythm in March 2019 after my wife and I decided to leave California. LogRhythm was a primary focus for me because of my familiarity with LogRhythm SIEM and Network Monitor (NetMon). My experience seemed to perfectly align with the job opportunity at LogRhythm.

In my spare time, my wife and I both enjoy fixing up neglected or broken furniture. We fix some furniture to keep in our home, and we sell other pieces. I was once an avid gamer, but I have slowly slipped to console (Xbox) and focus on first person shooter games.

“There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.” – Colin Powell
